Brian Ralph graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1996 with a BFA in Illustration. Brian's illustrations have appeared in a number of publications, including Wired, the New York Times, The New York Daily News, in various newsweeklies around the country. Brian’s comics have appeared in The Museum of Modern Art newsletter, Nickelodeon Magazine, The Drama Magazine, Pulse Magazine, The Ganzfeld, DC Comics’ Bizarro and in McGraw Hill textbooks. Brian’s comics and illustrations have also appeared in ad campaigns for Brooks Running Shoes and Volkswagon. Currently Brian draws the comic Reggie-12 for every issue of Giant Robot Magazine. His graphic novel Cave-In was nominated for three Harveys and one Eisner award, as well as being picked as one of the five best comics of 1999, according to the Comics Journal. He won a Xeric grant for his second book Climbing Out in 2002. Brian has also two Ignatz awards at the Small Press Expo. Brian is an adjunct professor in the Illustration department at the Maryland Institute College of Art where he teaches Sequential Art, Character Development, Narrative Illustration, and Illustration Concepts. Brian lives in Baltimore, Maryland with his wife, Megan, and their son, Miles.
